Stephan Marchant - Business Manager

Hi! I'm Steve Marchant, I joined the team at Workhorse Recruitment in April 2007, I'm 30 years of age and have enjoyed the challenges that have been offered since coming on board.

Growing up on a farm 25 minutes out of Toowoomba, it has been nice to come home to family after traveling various parts of Eastern Australia working for the past 11 years. Having been involved with farming since a child, I went to Mildura and started to work on various Vineyards, intent on staying in the industry for years to come. After a while I was offered an opportunity to join a team of carpenters building some units around the area, this lead to meeting what later became my business partner. A short time later, I went into partnership with a gentleman who started a stage of my life that was very rewarding and challenging, I started my apprenticeship as a carpenter and was later credited for prior learning's meaning my time as an apprentice was reduced considerably. We started to travel around Victoria completing shop fit-outs for businesses, while also building a few homes around our local area which had become Geelong.

Due to circumstances that life throws our way, after about four and a half years in Geelong I moved to Scone in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. Scone offered me new and exciting challenges including a change in career paths, I started to work for a large contract mining company and worked my way up to a management position. Dealing with Mine Managers, Environmental Managers, Health & Safety Managers and Production Staff it meant a whole different range and level of client relations had to be learnt, also I had a team of staff to look after and keep in work which added to the pressure, and like wise the rewards. So there you go, over five years later here I am with Workhorse Recruitment, I'm committed to providing the level of service that Workhorse Recruitment has offered for over seven years now, and look forward to building new relationships with both client's and candidate's in the years to come. I believe that the experience gained in the past along with an attitude to succeed will provide the balance needed to supply the personal level of service that Workhorse Recruitment Pty Ltd is proud of.
