Vicki Holmes - Accounts Payroll
Vicki started her career at a local gas company in charge of all debtors, creditors and hire purchase ledgers before the introduction of the computer.
After marrying & moving to Cairns in 1988 Vicki was assistant to the General Manager of a large law firm. This time proved to be an enormous learning curb in her career which involved a payroll of 50 staff, budget projections and reporting to the four partners of the firm. She also liaised with the accounts department on a daily basis and had to perform all duties pertaining to the accounts section when staff members were on annual leave or ill and at the end of each month to help with bank account and trust account reconciliations. Debt collection was another area that was her responsibility.
After having her two children, Vicki and her husband bought an automotive spray painting business with 7 staff. This was a wonderful opportunity to put her previous experience to a real test by applying it to their own business.
After selling their spray painting business, Vicki joined the team at Workhorse Recruitment as bookkeeper/payroll officer. Vicki enjoys the challenge this role brings together with being the part of a dynamic and innovative business.
Tanya Trevarthen - Administration
Hi! My name is Tanya Trevarthen, I’m married with two children both grown up now. We own a property at Goombungee where we run cattle and endurance horses.
My background started in the rural life with my parents owning dairy and beef cattle. I started work for a stockfeed company back in 1977 and then moved into other areas from finance and back into stockfeed and owning my own endurance business and now into recruiting.
I have always been involved with horses all my life, from the pony club days and some campdrafting. The endurance scene was introduced to me back in 1989 with my first taste of endurance being a 40km ride at Warwick, from this time on I was hooked. I have competed at many 80km, 120km and 160km rides and placing in the top ten most times. I have three Tom Quilty Buckles and placed very high at Qld State Champs one competition being my first state champs in 1993 coming 3rd and 1st female over the line. I decided to take up professional endurance riding in 1999. I have several top quality endurance horses competing overseas in Dubai. One of these horses was top point score horse for 2005, this horse won many 80km and 120km rides. I’v been involved with the Toowoomba Endurance Club as Treasurer for 15 years and have administered many other rides and worked at Quilty’s.
I’m currently training 4 horses for this season and hope to compete at the State Champs later in the year.
I hope to continue my involvement in the endurance scene but will have to scale it down now due to my work commitments, with Workhorse Recruitment Pty Ltd.
I love the work I do helping place people into the right equine position and talking to the employers and candidates.
